Have you ever awakened in a grumpy mood? For no reason, you feel angry or annoyed? We all have those mornings and they can put us on a path to a miserable day.

When this happens to you, restart your day.

Sometimes we start off in a good mood, and a person or situation irritates us. The rest of our day is ruined. It doesn’t have to be that way. We can restart our day anytime.

Just take these steps:

  • Walk away. Find a spot where you can stop and breathe. Close your eyes and relax your shoulders. Take a few minutes to nurture yourself. Treat yourself to a cup of coffee and a gooey cinnamon roll. Take the time to enjoy each bite. You deserve to reset your day.
  • Take a moment to think of one good thing you can look forward to today. If you can’t think of anything, add a fun activity to your day that can boost your spirits. Anticipating a pleasurable experience will put a smile on your face and relieve your present tension.
  • Do something nice for someone else. This may not seem to make sense, but when you help someone else, you will feel better about yourself. Give someone an honest compliment. Help someone with a task. Their smile will boost your energy.

Take a step to restart your day. You’ll be glad you did!
