Hardships happen in life. When they do, shift from “why it happened” to “what am I going to do about it.” Asking “why” is important so you will not repeat the action, but asking how I want to proceed now can be much more powerful and produce forward movement. Take that first step toward change.
To get your attitude going the right way, you need to appreciate your blessings.
In our down times, we forget how blessed we are. All of us have many gifts. Just pick one and focus on that. You may think of the loving family you have or the food in your fridge, or just the warmth of a hot shower. Remembering how fortunate we are reduces any sadness we may be experiencing.
It’s amazing, really. The seemingly meaningless things you do for yourself may not have immediate results, but after just a short period of time they’ll have you looking and feeling better.
So add those bubbles to your bath, make sure you eat your vegetables, get enough sleep, think of doing something fun when you have nothing to do.
Plan to do one thing today that will help you improve physically, intellectually, emotionally or spiritually. Making just one change for the better will boost your attitude from the inside out. Don’t try to change everything at once. Just choose one area and make one improvement.

Life can be stressful. Sometimes we just want to pull out our hair! How do you rid yourself of stress?
One of my favorite ways to calm my mind is simply to walk. Throw on your sneakers and take a stroll around the neighborhood. If you’re lucky enough to have a park nearby, that’s even better.
Walking releases stress from your body. Allow your mind to wander. Use your senses to feel the breeze on your skin, hear the birds twitter and smell the flowers.
If you’re really stressed, walk until you’re tired. Then take a much-deserved nap when you return home. This routine will refresh you and allow you to tackle whatever comes your way.
