Can You Accept Help?

Helping Hands

One of the most important elements of reinvention is that you must be willing to accept help.

This was a hard lesson for me. I’m sure some of you can relate to being so independent that you think you can, and should, do everything yourself. But I found that when I let other people help me, it freed me up to do more important things. Also, when I accepted guidance, it allowed me to see issues with a fresh pair of eyes. I’m not saying you have to agree with someone else’s opinion, but it never hurts to get another perspective.

Final decisions about your life are up to you, but accept help along the way. You’ll reach your dreams much sooner!

Get Your Dreams Back!

Live Your Dreams

Our jobs grind away at our time and our joy. Our dreams get whittled down to what we have the time and energy to pursue after our 9 to 5 duties. Things we were sure we’d accomplish in our twenties and thirties become distant memories.

Now is the time to take back our joy. Where do you find the time? Make a choice between playing Words with Friends and researching that business you’ve always wanted to start. Instead of binging Game of Thrones, take a culinary class for the ethnic cooking you wanted to learn. Your efforts will take you to the dreams you left behind.

You can let your dreams fade away, or grab them and fly! Make your choice today!

Ditch the Guilt!

How often do you feel guilty about taking some “me” time? You want to sink into your couch with your Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey and binge “Orange is the New Black.” The whole time you’re thinking, “I should be doing something productive.” Well, it’s time to ditch the guilt!

You’ve worked hard most of your life. Not just on your day job, but after hours, too. Take time to rejuvenate and replenish your mind and body. You’ll be surprised at how a few hours of down time will clear your mind and open your creativity. New possibilities will open up for you. Your energy will go up and your stress will go down.

It may take some practice, but start today. Take a few hours to do NOTHING. Try it again next week. Increase your down time each week until you find your sweet spot, the perfect amount of time you need to refresh. Then sit back and enjoy!

Now your joy is part of you, not your job.

You’ll have an amazing life!

You Deserve a Nap!

When we retire, we often go through a period of uncertainty. “What do I do now?” Without our 9 to 5 routine urging us to rise early, eat lunch at noon, and complete assigned tasks, we often flounder.

Rejoice!

Use this time to pamper yourself. Get your mani-pedi on a Tuesday afternoon. No waiting! Do your shopping midday. No crowded aisles. Remember sleepy afternoons in the office? Stretch out on the couch and take a nap! Your time is yours!

Your time is finally yours. Remember that and enjoy!
